A couple of rowdy bears decided to send us a message yesterday — this is our yard now, so no more birds and no more birdhouses, get it?

The birdhouse had been there for years — don’t know why they decided to destroy it now.

Wow. That’s a new one on me. Bird feeders, yes. Houses is a first. Was there an active nest?
Not at the time! Hadn’t seen birds visiting there for weeks.
It might be that birds are not careful about food storage, and the bear found out.
