I hiked along Big Creek for several hours last Saturday afternoon. Big Creek is a tributary of the Pigeon River running along the North Carolina – Tennessee border. Beautiful location. I’m sure it will be even prettier in a few weeks when the rhododendrons are blooming.
I went there not for the flowers, however, but for the water (click image to enlarge). To me, nothing evokes the sense of well-being and wonder that a flowing creek does.
Here are two videos I shot. The first spot is a great place to have lunch. The second is at Mouse Creek Falls (left).

not to be macabre, but the sights and sounds you captured remind me of one of the final scenes of soylent green. very calming and beautiful. i would very much enjoy a hike there with you and mom this summer!
