President Obama is holding fast that he will not negotiate with terrorists. I’m not talking about Syria or Hezbollah or Iran. I’m talking about our House of Horror-Representatives.
It is hard to believe that Republicans have controlled the House only since 2011. It feels like a lot longer than that. It seems like forever that anything has been accomplished there other than dozens of empty votes against ObamaCare.
In his inauguration speech, Gerald Ford described Richard Nixon’s Watergate fiasco as our “long national nightmare.” That nightmare lasted not quite two years and two months, and ended with Nixon’s resignation. Our current Republican nightmare has surpassed that by several months, with no end in sight. Please wake me when it’s over.
