Some movie trailers give away too much of the plot, and some headlines, like this one in The New York Times, tell you everything you need to know: “Jonah Lehrer Resigns From The New Yorker After Making Up Dylan Quotes for His Book.”
“I want to apologize to everyone* I have let down, especially my editors and readers,” Lehrer said in a statement. After he was caught. And after he sold 200,000 copies of his book. Imagine that.
* Lehrer didn’t see fit to apologize to Bob Dylan, however.
