In my spare time, I have been experimenting with various chemicals and compounds in my underground laboratory, and I’m pleased to announce a breakthrough. Not simply a breakthrough but a miracle. I have developed a drug that allows everyone who takes it to live to be exactly 100 years old, without disability or dementia or pain. You will die quietly and peacefully on the day after your 100th birthday, with family and friends at your side. The drug has no side effects.
For the drug to be effective, however, it must be administered (by a painless injection) once a year, every year, starting at age 30. If you skip a year, all the benefits are lost: your physical state deteriorates as if you had never taken the drug at all.
The active ingredient in the drug is a very rare element with no chemical equivalent. It is extremely expensive to refine and prepare. It costs $200,000 to manufacture two doses. Only 5 percent of U.S. households make this much in a year.
Having found the wonder drug, I now wonder: who will be able to take it?

sounds great to me, Craig … one problem: you discovered it 30-some-years too late for me to begin : (
Sadly, research and studies have shown that when all other factors are accounted for, e.g., education, socioeconomic, etc. that being of African American race causes daily stresses that result in poorer health outcomes in all areas of health including prenatal and neonatal health. Wish there was a pill for that.
