A Plug-in Plug

Facebook makes its money from on-line games, which I don’t play, and on-line advertising, which I don’t see.  In fact, I rarely see any ads on the internet, because I use AdBlock Plus for Firefox.  AdBlock is a free plug-in that is available for Firefox, Safari, Chrome and even Internet Explorer.  On rare occasions, I have to disable it to make a site display properly (most notably Gannett-owned newspapers) but this is due to non-standard web code, not the ad-blocker itself.

On the left is what you see when you visit www.nytimes.com — on the right is what I see.  I’m not sure why everyone doesn’t use this — it’s the internet equivalent of fast-forward.
