You Better Give Me Your Money

Flower TankThe Paul McCartney website has a store full of Paul McShoppingCart items, including the women’s tank-top shown here.  (The stem of the flower is Paul’s signature and the petals are guitar picks.)  It goes for $40.  I asked my wife, would she like one, and she replied, “Not unless he comes along with it and sings ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand.'”

Paul, I know you’re reading this, so it’s up to you.  You want to sell us this shirt, look us up.

I don’t go to many concerts (about one a year, last one: James Taylor and Carole King, June 2010) and when I do, I am always shocked at the “merch” prices like $30 t-shirts. Same when we saw Sir Paul in Boston in 2002 (I was amazed – no maybe), but I did feel I needed to have something tangible from that event, so I bought a program for maybe $20. I still have it on my shelf of Beatle books. Guess I’m a fanboy. Beatlemaniac. Sucker for marketing. But I didn’t buy anything from Ringo’s Boston concert in 2006 (I think – went with Rob). Ringo still gets no respect.
