Apparently there was a total lunar eclipse last night that was visible just about everywhere in North America if your conditions were right. I thought it was pretty hard to see it here in North Carolina at 3:17 am, from my bed, with my eyelids closed.

I was also checking my eyelids for holes ~ why can’t the lunar eclipse happen when everyone is awake? Doubt that the Winter Warlock would cooperate anyway …

It’s not a LUNAR eclipse, but did you see this picture? Quite amazing. The guy had like one second to catch the space station over the sun. Extreme umbrage! Or something.

That’s pretty amazing Bruce, thanks for the link. I’m surprised 1) that the refraction of the light rays around the space station didn’t make it a fuzzy dot (but what do I know about optics) and 2) that the space station would have that apparent size, I thought it would be much smaller at that distance.
