Let’s start with a joke.<\/p>\n
Q: What does the sado-masochistic kid want to be when he grows up?\u00a0 A: Telemarketer.\u00a0 You annoy the hell out of people and then they hang up on you, what could be better?<\/p>\n
Today I got the ninth call on my cell-phone from 702-554-1465 in the last two months.\u00a0 The calls are made by a telemarketer on behalf of the newspaper in the town where I grew up\u00a0 —\u00a0 I had the newspaper delivered to my mother in California while she was alive.\u00a0 And in spite of my protests, they persist in thinking I want to renew my subscription.<\/p>\n
A while ago, I saved their number in my cell-phone under “Telemarketer” so that I would know when they were calling.\u00a0 Tonight when I saw them pop up on my screen, I answered and did the old “I asked you before to stop calling me, the next time you call I will write to the State Attorney General, so remove me from your list!” routine.<\/p>\n
Now, the truth be told, I have no idea who our State Attorney General is.\u00a0 I hope that he or she has better things to do<\/a> than chase down annoying people who call me.<\/p>\n I will update this entry if and when the calls continue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What good is having your own blog if you can’t rant once in a while?
