{"id":6088,"date":"2013-09-18T20:18:49","date_gmt":"2013-09-19T00:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/?p=6088"},"modified":"2022-08-01T07:43:12","modified_gmt":"2022-08-01T11:43:12","slug":"little-state-i-live-in-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/2013\/09\/little-state-i-live-in-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Little State I Live In: 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the September 18, 2013, Asheville Citizen-Times:<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">An anti-abortion activist [Margaret Peal] has been hired as a senior policy adviser  at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, the  latest in a string of politically charged hiring decisions made at the  embattled state agency.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Records  show Peal recently served on the board of the anti-abortion Carolina  Pregnancy Center, a group that emphasizes Christian scripture and  encourages abstinence. She was also an early organizer for the  conservative Eastern North Carolina Tea Party and gave $1,250 to the  2012 campaign of Republican Gov.
