In spite of what my title suggests, this post is not<\/em> another tired whine about how ZEN is not a valid Scrabble word even though JEEP is.\u00a0 (ZEN is a proper noun, hence unplayable, whereas JEEP… well, you figure that out.)\u00a0 Instead, this post presents an assortment of should-be-words, complete with definitions, that have popped up in my seven-letter tray during Scrabble games.\u00a0 I encourage fellow Scrabblers to try playing these words against friendly opponents, especially after a second bottle of wine has been opened — who knows, these words sound so good they just might go unchallenged.<\/p>\n

POTIFTO<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): a tuberous vegetable unsure of whether it is a yam or a sweet potato<\/p>\n

EARKITE <\/strong><\/span>(n<\/em>): Barack Obama on a parasail\"\"<\/p>\n

EFFOTEL<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): worst hotel you ever stayed in<\/p>\n

ITOILET<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): the last place a person drops her iPhone before buying a new one<\/p>\n

AOUEIII<\/strong><\/span> (int<\/em>): universal bungee-jumping cry<\/p>\n

TOETURE<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): the act of tickling a person’s pedal extremities to make them talk<\/p>\n

RETOPIA<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): an idyllic place where enlightened Buddhists live their second lives<\/p>\n

PREGOLD<\/strong><\/span> (adj<\/em>): pertaining to the year prior to becoming eligible for Medicare<\/p>\n

RAMENZA<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): drug approved in 2003 for treating allergic reactions to Japanese noodles<\/p>\n

BEGTIME<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): the several-minutes-long period when one’s child, after being tucked in for the night, pleads for one more story to be read<\/p>\n

\"\"TRAMPUI<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): honey-flavored liqueur favored by hobos<\/p>\n

RAILODE<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): boxcar-themed poetry favored by hobos<\/p>\n

SHPUZKA<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): loose outergarment worn in anticipation of drama, as in, “You cad!\u00a0 I’ve never been so insulted!\u00a0 Waiter, bring me\u00a0my shpuzka and get me a taxi!”<\/p>\n

QINEDAY<\/strong><\/span> (n<\/em>): day of the week (in the European Union, between Monday and Tuesday) when U need not follow Q<\/p>\n
