{"id":15869,"date":"2017-09-10T21:23:35","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T01:23:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/?p=15869"},"modified":"2023-10-11T21:50:16","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T01:50:16","slug":"art-chc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/2017\/09\/art-chc\/","title":{"rendered":"Hello ART @ CHC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-15888\" style=\"border: 4px solid #d7d7d7; margin-top: 2px;\" src=\"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/wp-content\/uploads\/artchc2-300x80.png\" alt=\"artchc2\" width=\"300\" height=\"80\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/wp-content\/uploads\/artchc2-300x80.png 300w, https:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/wp-content\/uploads\/artchc2-640x171.png 640w, https:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\/wp-content\/uploads\/artchc2.png 660w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>This may be a bit early, but I am impatient and excited to get things going.\u00a0 I am using this post to announce and launch my new art-focused website <a href=\"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/art\">ART @ CHC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This dedicated site (<a href=\"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/art\">chcollins.com\/art<\/a>) will better highlight my visual art, which I think got lost in the commentary and diverse topics that I explore here on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/chcollins.com\/100Billion\">The 100 Billionth Person<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 So from now on, I will be posting my painting and photography at <em>ART @ CHC<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I no longer have an art business presence (goodbye <em>Mountain City Arts<\/em>) but this does not mean I want to stop making and sharing my art or even selling it if the opportunity arises.\u00a0 But I have modest expectations: right now, I just want to make sharing easier.<\/p>\n<p>I have programmed several websites in the past but <em>ART @ CHC<\/em> is the first time I tried to use WordPress (blog software) to create a site.\u00a0 It is also the first time I used pay-versions of themes and plug-ins.\u00a0 Even using pay-software, I wound up spending more hours than I care to admit reverse-engineering and tweaking it all, until I got <em>ART @ CHC<\/em> to look and perform the way I wanted.\u00a0 The best part of using pay-software is that <em>ART @ CHC<\/em> is more mobile-friendly than <em>The 100 Billionth Person<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0 I hope it works for you.<\/p>\n<p>There are only a few galleries at <em>ART @ CHC<\/em> right now, but there will eventually be 20-30 galleries of modest size and distinct themes.\u00a0 I will not make <em>ART @ CHC<\/em> an image dump.\u00a0 I intend to curate the galleries and populate them with my best work.<\/p>\n<p>One issue I have not yet addressed is how to subscribe to gallery updates at <em>ART @ CHC<\/em>.\u00a0 For now, I can only ask that you please check in now and again.\u00a0 Thanks for your interest and I hope it is rewarded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This may be a bit early, but I am impatient and excited to get things going.\u00a0 I am using this post to announce and launch my new art-focused website ART @ CHC.
